the in 1st place website will be announced tomorrow (may 16, 2021) and on it will have a nice handful of music.
/"tilt at windmills" is a complete album done with the fellas from ebenzer way back when; it is finally seeing the light of day. we were much young then, but are happy with how it came out, and we hope you enjoy it.
/"alexander the great is:" was a difficult project to complete... ba had written songs with alex mcrae for many years until alex's untimely passing. with many unfinished home records, ba decided to finish songs that were left in the dust. ba had to tap into riffs, melodies, and lyrics that were only placeholders for the initial structures of these songs. ba is now finding comfort in putting these songs out there in homage to alex.
/"this was your idea" is an artistic writing project where ba only had 30second to 1 minute riffs from another song writer (t.j.p.j.r.) to create complete songs. this album has 3 riffs and 3 complete songs. this project took much longer than expected and began dedicated work of writing and recording in 2020; the 3 songs (the file, the transfer, the protocol) create an arc of the confusion of how life changed for many people in 2020. we say this many times in many places in our site, but, we enjoy the autonomy of music, so, although these songs have meaning and placement in our lives, we are enthralled with the belief that these songs can take on other meanings and placements for different listeners.
/"winter is a myth" this was the first recording of ebenezer (then ebaneezer). there were many trials and tribulations that came to making this album... guitars out of tune, people dropping out of the band mid song, melody before meaning, a whole bunch of stuff. we did management to put together a nice batch of tunes for teenagers, so give it a peak listen, it should (at least) make the newer stuff sound better.
so long as this blog does not become another platform for negative commentary, we will maintain this space and strive to answer questions and have open dialog. want to know what guitars were used in a song? wondering what our favorite chord is? want to dissect gossamer - even if one doesn't discuss gossamer? we'll do it.
so, in a few hours the website will be announced... if you are reading this, you (or someone you know) found that announcement and found yourself here and now. thank you for your presence! thank you for your consideration! thank you.
